Why 897, and why three days.
Blockchain education in Southeast Asia was — and largely still is — fragmented. Retail learners chase price charts. University curricula lag two cycles behind the technology. Enterprises treat the entire category as a compliance checkbox.
The Largest Blockchain Lesson was designed as a single, public answer to that gap: a rigorously prepared, three-day lesson delivered to 897 participants in a single class — not a conference, not a panel, not a series of overlapping workshops. One instructor, one syllabus, one hall, one record.
Why 897? Because that was every verified seat filled across all three days. Guinness required the same registered learners to be present at the start and end of each day for the count to hold. Nobody was a walk-in. Nobody was a replacement.
Hosted at MITEC — Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre in Kuala Lumpur over 13–15 November 2022, the attempt was independently witnessed throughout by a Guinness World Records adjudicator. The record stands today as the world's largest verified single-instructor blockchain lesson.
For David Justin personally, it was the beginning of a much larger mission — to make this technology accessible to one million learners across the region.
